This month saw a great turnout with 24 shooters including several first timers to this event. We had a three way shoot-off for first place with scores of 33, one using a Rem. 700 bolt gun in .223. It took two rounds in the shoot-off to get the final order with Olin Coles taking first place. The top seven scores were very close with only 3 points separating them. Many shooters used both semi-auto and bolt guns with good scores on both.
We had great weather with sunny skies and zero to light winds. We still had some target malfunctions/failures using heavier tow straps and we are working on alternative hanging materials/methods for the next match.
Many thanks for everyone on the assistance in setting up, cleaning up and helping me on my first time as Match Director. Our next Short-Range Tactical rifle match is Sat. 11/5. Please arrive by 7:30 for setup followed by early practice with the match starting around 9:00. Please arrive with rifles ready and sighted in, proper zero set.
