The August match saw nice/cool AM temperatures with the weather warming to pleasantly warm, but NOT HOT! So we had weather with really nice temperatures and some VERY light wind—it started blowing lightly at the very beginning of the match and slowly increased to be strong enough to blow paperwork around at the finish of the match, but was never bothersome to the shooters. We had a kinda upper middle of the road turnout this month—19 shooters, 2 of whom shot guns in both MAGNIFIED and UNMAGNIFIED classes for a total of 21 guns on the line. There were 4 new-to-us shooters who participated in the “unclassified class”, and they will be classified for future shoots and one “usual” shooter that tried shooting in a new rifle class There was one JUNIOR shooter, who was shooting in her first “match”. We had one shoot off this time in the Expert Magnified class for third place, but Ace Tan declined the shoot-off, so Rickie Malone got that spot in the finishing order and the match was easily done by noon. The OVERALL MATCH WINNER was Don Johnson with a score of 34. Again, I’d like to extend a “thank you” to all the shooters that helped out with equipment set-up and tear-down and to say thanks to Mike Ceccerelli for his help running the match when I took a turn at shooting. I am always thankful that we have such a great group of folks that participate in these shooting events and wish to reiterate that ALL of you guys and gals make it a LOT easier and enjoyable for me to run the match. I am looking forward to seeing you all next month and having another great shoot!!!!!
