Military Silhouette Match Results 2020-06-20 — It’s “Bren” A While

Sixteen shooters celebrated the First Day of Summer by shooting vintage military rifles under perfect weather conditions. Five shooters had the added pleasure of shooting Chickens offhand. Their joy was so contagious that four other shooters rang up scores good enough to also shoot Chickens offhand at next month’s match!

One never knows who’s going to show up at the Mil-Sil match, nor which vintage military rifles accompany them. Case in point: “If I single-round load from a magazine, may I shoot my light machine gun?”

Enter the Bren Mark 2. And judging from the number of hits, it’s accurate too. Video here and (corrected link) here (hot mic language warning).

Before and during the match, the Match Director reminded shooters to stay hydrated, to set their Dope, to listen to their Spotter, and to make sure they’re aiming at the correct target. (As to the latter, the Match Director failed to follow his own advice!)

Once again Dave R. and Tom M. had a shoot-off (pigs, offhand) – this time, Tom won.

If it has “Bren A While,” you, too, should come join us at our next match on Saturday, July 18, for good company and good shooting fun.
