There was an encouraging turnout for the first 1000 yd. benchrest in August so we’ll try it again to judge interest for next year. The new date will be October 25, 2025. The 600 yd. match scheduled for this date is cancelled.
The rules will be as before, simple and informal. Shooters will be squadded into teams of two, a shooter and scorer. The shooter will shoot unlimited sighters and then a record group in a time limit of 10 minutes.
Groups are scored and measured by the electronic target and then recorded by a scorer assigned to the target. The scorer will then shoot and the previous shooter will score. This procedure will continue until both shooters have shot six 5 shot targets.
The rifle can be anything that is 22 cal. (223 Rem 77 grain) or greater but .338 cal. or less, shot single fire i.e. no feeding from a magazine and no muzzle brakes. Other equipment the shooters should bring are a stool to sit on, an electronic pad or other device with an internet browser, clipboard, pencil, front rest and rear rest. Front rest and rear rest cannot be connected.
